Last month, Carmen shared the big news in a YouTube video titled “Overdue Update!”
“We should probably also address something else pretty big,” she said toward the end of the clip before holding up her hand to show off her wedding ring. “I did get married.”
Lupita, sitting beside her, quickly added with a laugh: “I did not.”
The sisters made it clear that the marriage involved only Carmen. Lupita, who identifies as asexual and aromantic, reiterated that she has no desire to marry. “I don’t want to get married,” she said simply.
Carmen and Daniel first met on the dating app Hinge in October 2020, PEOPLE detailed. She recalled being flooded with messages from men with fetishes, but Daniel stood out immediately.
“I knew right off the bat that Daniel was different from the others, because he didn’t lead with a question about my condition,” Carmen said. “I have social anxiety and have canceled dates last minute before, but I felt calm on the way to meet him.”
